Kimberly!
You are officially my new distant relative/best friend...
My father has been researching our history for years, and has some lineages going back to the 1600's, which is why I was kind of disappointed having another look at my ahnentafel he sent me to find that every single line stemming back from his own mother finishes at the 3rd-great-grandparent point. I don't know whether or not he has already been in contact with you at some point and not let me on on it, but if not, I bet he would be super interested in what info you have!

Robert Lenton Green, born ~1784 in Sudbury and who married Mary Stammers on the 18th May 1809 (and had about 15 kids!), is my great-great-great-grandfather... but this is as far back as we have traced that line, to my knowledge. I don't think we even have any information regarding his siblings, although from him and his children downward my father seems to have quite a reasonable amount of info.

Dad has been recording some stuff on this site:
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:2395857&id=I515239415

Your earliest Green marriage does wonders in explaining why the names Lenton and Ewin pop up in later generations as both middle and first names and would take what we have back a generation or two - would love any information you have regarding Ewin Green and Elizabeth Linton and their children/grandchildren?

Thanks so much,
Sophie

Found this website:

Hopefully of some use?

Actually... just had a read over it - they seem to be just the major passenger ships and appear to be from 1839-1840 at the earliest... Sorry  :(
There was definitely contact much earlier, so there must have been transport to NZ much earlier...

By any chance have you traced any GREEN's back to Sudbury or Essex?

I noticed you have another post related to a "Sophia GREEN" - My father has made some note about a "Sophia Amelia Green" who may be the aunt of Lenton Coote Green, who was born in Sudbury in 1860, though I'm not sure if that timing would work out, nor can I find from my father's notes exactly how she is his aunt.

Brenda or Anne...
I was wondering if you could help me? I also have some WRIGHT ancestors from Suffolk (although mostly from Sudbury I think).
Apparently there was a John Wright born ~1838 (so a bit later than the John Wright you discuss, but potentially a relative?), first wife Hannah Richardson and 2nd Esther Jarves. He had a sister called Jane Wright, and had 8 children all up:
Susan Martha Wright, born ~1868 in Stambourne, Suffolk. Married Lenton Coote Green.
Polly Wright
3rd child died at birth with mother
Frank Edward Wright
Arthur Wright, who married Florence Theobald
Florence Wright
Frederick Wright
Albert Olanda Wright, who married Elizabeth Southgate

I know it's a long-shot, but does this family happen to match up at all with any of your Wright's? Would be greatly interested, as is an area of my family tree that appears to be lacking!
