I am trying to find my great grandfather born somewhere in Scotland in 1840 - Henry McDermott.  His father was John and he had a brother Archie Cameron older than him.  Hoping they are on the 1841 census somewhere!

Please can anyone find Emily and Thomas Buckingham in the 1851 Shoreditch census.  Emily was born in 1811 and in 1861 they were living in York Street, Shoreditch, so probably the same address in 1851.

Hi Matty

I have very little information about my great grandfather Henry McDermott.  On the 1881 and 1891 censuses for the Isle of Wight where he was living he put his place of birth as Clifford, Leeds, but when I fould his military history he stated his place of birth as Belfast.

I have checked the 1851 census for Clifford but have found only one family that may fit and they were born in Scotland - confusing!

I only know his father's name was John.

I am looking for information about John McDermott who had a son Henry born 1840.  The information I have about Henry's birth is that he was born in the parish of Belfast, near the town of Belfast. Henry next appeared in Yorkshire in 1858.  If anyone can help please?
