Hi Motorbikerdave , thanks for the additional information on the Harrison’s.
I believe we’ve “ spoken” before on ancestry. I’ve just sent you another message.

I’m still looking for any pictures of any of the bakers/ confectioners shops but I think that’s a lost cause nowadays. I believe I have some recipes from when Mary Harrison had the coffee tavern in Eastwood . Any information, family tales / stories/ pictures would be great . I have a fair amount of names/ dates,  basic information but would like to put meat on the bones. That’s what makes the family tree come alive .

Thank you  Br1gau and maddy for the information on the Harrison’s. It is most helpful.

I actually have the original paper article about the Golden Wedding of The Wright’s..I didn’t know about the second article though . Very interesting .

Antrim / Re: Heron family
« on: Friday 26 August 11 12:01 BST (UK)  »
Thanks Brenda for getting in contact.I too found Jeniffer's tree and got a lot of information I'd not been able to get before on the Canada side of the tree. My branch is of Adam's brother John who remained in England. I have a few letters what Adam wrote to his mum Jane and brothers which gives an in site to how difficult life was for him and the family.I've not been able to get much further back in the tree but there may have been a third brother who was in the same regiment as Adam and John Heron who were both killed at Waterloo. This other possible sibling William Heron survived. Not yet got more details. But he was born in the same area and a weaver before joining up.

Take care Daisy.

Yes Rebecca sailed from Mombasa and arrived in the UK 20.8.1934. No return passage found.I've gone back as far as 1955 in the GRO deaths and still nothing.

Thanks Mole for your help. I've tried UK GRO and not found anything, also can't find her on any  other passenger lists so she might well have stayed in England. There isn't any trace anywhere that i can find unless she married in late in  life.

« on: Friday 25 February 11 16:44 GMT (UK)  »
I'm looking for any information on Rebecca Fenn born 1860 Warwickshire , parents  James Fenn and Elizabeth nee Lawrence. In 1891 she was working as a cook for the Green family, one of the son's was Fred W E Green a physician later to be known as W Eldridge- Green inventor of lantern to determine colour blindness.I believe the family moved to South Africa after 1891.In 1902 Sarah's nephew W J Taylor was enquiring of her whereabouts. She returned to England at least once in 1934(found on a passenger list).
When and where did she die? Did she go back to South Africa? Any will?Where would i find it?
Help!!!!
