Thanks K99. Yes it is. He and his brothers were taken in by their Mums sister Lydia and her husband Isaac after their widowed Mum died in 1850.
His Dad had died in 1848. Like you say maybe something made them overlook registering his birth although back then according to Google they were expected to register a birth within 42 days. Maybe something happened to the record or it could be a mistake in the surname. I’ve seen quite a few strange versions of Frecknall.

His middle name is Joseph but so far I can’t find anything by reversing his names.

Hello I’m looking for the birth entry of Frederick Joseph Frecknall/Frecknell baptised 3 May 1846 resident Bedmister. Born 3 April 1846. Birthplace according to the census is Bristol. Mother’s maiden name Nelson. I was hoping to get his birth certificate. I can’t find him on FreeBmd or in the GRO records.

I sent the registration card back with an Ancestry DNA sample. I registered it before posting.  Do I need to get a replacement test if I no longer have the code?
Update …
Went to Ancestry support.
Apparently once it’s registered you no longer need the code.
