Hi Bob,
Yes John is a cousin, His father and my grandmother were brother and sister, My grandmother was Margaret Spollen (Moloney). The moderator removed your phone number so I cant call you. The reason I was asking about Faith Berry is because that is as far back as we have gotten. If you discover anything or I can help your research please let me know.
                                                 Thanks,
                                                 Jim McKillop

Hi Thanks for responding, I am in the US on Long island. I don't have any more information on Faith Berry except what I mentioned in my previous post, other than the fact that her daughter Molly Mulvihill was born around 1865 and died in 1916. I would guess based on that information she would have had to been born 1845 or earlier ? I thought maybe your Ann Berry might have been a sister or cousin ?
               Thanks for your help,

Hi My great great grandmother was Faith Berry from glassan toberclare area, she married a Mulvihill (dont know first name) her daughter Mary (Molly) Mulvihill who was my greatgrandmother married John Spollen and they lived directly across the road from the church in Toberclare. They raised 11 children including my grandmother Margaret "Peg" Spollen who emigrated to New York. The Spollen family still owns the cottage there. I was wondering if your Berry family is related to the Faith Berry I mentioned? I would guess she could have been a sister of your Anne Berry and lived in the area in the mid 1800's. Please let me know your thoughts and any Berry or Mulvihill info. you are aware of.
        Thanks,
     Jim McKillop

hello all,
I see Ed has answered a lot of questions and linked us together. I have tried to respond to Ed on his personal message regarding spollens of Tubberclare but I cant seem to figure out how to send back a personal message.
Anyway, Ed I am familiar with Johns book on spollens. I also have been at the cottage a few times

My family is listed under Margaret Spollen. Since your message I have gone back and reread the book and see you are in the introduction and at the time he put the book together it mentions that you were establishing the connection between John Spollen and William Spollen. In the book it lists Baptismal records for 8 of the 21 children of John Spollen and Jane Dunigan:

Elizabeth 5/27/1830
Laurence 8/13,1833
Mary 3/27/1835
Patrick 1/16/1837
Catherine 4/12/1838
John 9/25/1845
Ann 5/8/1847
John 4/25/1849

The last John is my greatgrandfather. The first John probably died as an infant
so the name was used again.
I was wondering Ed if you have found the records for your relative William who I believe would be one of the 21? or if you have found any others.

By the way if anyone wants to contact me directly

Hi,
I have a lot of info. on Spollens, my grandmother was Margaret Spollen one of eleven children born and raised in the cottage across the road from the church in Tubberclare near Glasson. What exactly did you want to know?
