Hi I am part of the Mycock clan!  Lots of data is held by Ken Mycock whose contact details are under the The Guild of One Name Studies website - and he has many of the family lines logged.  My line moved from Manchester to the North East. Regards Deb

Kent / Swanley Home for Little Boys, Swanley , Kent
« on: Saturday 21 June 08 15:49 BST (UK)  »
My grandfather was sent with one or more of his brothers to this home  - Swanley Boys Home  (Passmore Edwards' Home for Little Boys, Swanley
founded in 1896 ) He was Sidney Edmund Jagger b 28 Sept 1898 in Cowpen, Blyth, Northumberland and the family story goes that when his father died in 1908 he and the boys (Arthur was one) were sent away to this school as their mother had no income.  I have found a bible presented to Sidney, by the school,  on his 14th birthday in 1912.

Sidneys father was Frederick William Jagger b 1854 in Brompton, Middlesex and he was in the navy and a coastgurad before settling in Blyth where he was the Captain of Blyth Harbour dredger up until his death.

I ahve been unable to find any lists of pupils from the Swanley & Frningham Schools for Little Boys.  Can anyone help?

Huge thanks for your replies.  Sorry about the duplicate posting but I'm new! Thanks for the link to search labs but I couldn't get to the Bishops transcripts - could some one advise me how - please? (I'll get the hang of this quickly - honest!)  I have checked the Joiner Index but no data

Thanks again

Durham / SOUTH SHIELDS - Hart family
« on: Friday 20 June 08 19:46 BST (UK)  »
Hi.  I am sorry to ask for help but I have come to a bit of a dead end on the Hart line and wondered if you could be of any help please.  I am new to this site.

My great great grandfather was William Hart born about 1820 in South Shields, Co Durham. According to the 1851 census his name was spelt Heart and he is a French Glassmaker living at 14 Harrington Row, Bishopswearmouth and married to Isabella Lumley (married in SUNDERLAND in 1845).  I cannot find William Hart on the 1841 census.

I have found a William Hart on IGI Search christened St Hilda’s, South Shields 8 March 1818 with parents William and Ann.

Siblings found include  (all at St Hildas, South Shields)
Richard Hart 11 Aug 1820
William Hart 8 March 1818
Mary Ann Hart 15 Jan 1826
Elizabeth hart  16March 1823

Can anyone check parents marriage dates ??

William went on to have a daughter Isabella Ann Hart b 1848 on 1851 census and my great grandfather William Hart b1851 was born later in the census year . Any one with family links?

Any help gratefully received.  . I hope you can give me any clues no matter how small! Regards Debbie
