In 1938 - Oscar  b 1891  Gibraltar, lived in Essex at Plumberow Mount, Hockley (from his mother's death cert).  He would have been 47 at that time.

Please could sks check a directory or Electoral Roll from the mid 1930s- to 1960s to see if his name is there and his occupation.

Any help gratefully received,
Annagh

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / 1861 - Henry HEED, Baker, Hackney
« on: Saturday 12 March 05 03:47 GMT (UK)  »
In 1851 Henry HEED was at 87 Kingsland Road, Hackney.
Henry HEED  Head Unm 35 Master Baker  b Old Kent Road

He married Elizabeth SMITH, his boss's granddaughter, in 1848 and had several children including John Jacob HEED.
I hope to find them in 1861 as I know that father and son both died in 1869.

They could be in  Hackney, Shoreditch or Islington.
Thank you for your time

I hunted through many census pages but could not find any SCALES and looked carefully at every Charles for many pages.

It is a pity they do not give the Folionumber as that quickly locates them on one of two pages.

Perhaps one of those numbers is inaccurate?  Piece 357 is Lambeth.

Somerset Completed Lookup Requests / 1841 WILKINS - Kenn, Somerset
« on: Saturday 12 March 05 02:51 GMT (UK)  »
In the 1841 Census of Somerset - any of the WILKINS family who lived in or near Kenn, or who were born in Kenn, Somerset, may be my relatives.

Jacob WILKINS  b Kenn, moved to Chertsey, SRY in 1792.
But some of the family did not.
Jacob (my gg gfthr) & his older brother John were curriers.

Hoping,
Annagh

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / 1861 - Where is Ebenezer hiding??
« on: Wednesday 09 March 05 05:06 GMT (UK)  »

Ebenezer SMITH  b 1835 Richmond, SRY - about 25 years old.
I have not found him in the 1861 Census, but in the index at the 1837online site I found one who could be  him:

Rotherhithe
SMITH, Elenesia 23 Male  b Richmond

which is very likely a mistranscription of his name and age.
Please could someone with  the 1861 census let me know where in Rotherhithe the mistranscribed  person was living .  He may be a pedlar .

Many thanks
Annagh
