Hi Sandra

Thankyou for your reply. Yes I had see that website and they are stuck at the same place as me.
I'll keep digging though, as they say walls are meant to come down eventually.

Have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Cheers

Looking for the parents of John Morton Longdon who was born 1786 in Wickersley. I believe his father to be Robert Longdon and his mother ???.
Are there any relations out there related to the Longdon family?
If I am correct in the father, then John Morton Longdon had the following siblings: Robert, William, Ann, Catherine and George.

Any help would be most greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Tracy :)

Hi Annie

Thanks for that. I had seen that entry on NSW BDM, but previous experience has taught me not to go with the first entry that looks like it will fit. I don't suppose you know if Penrith has the original registers somewhere I could look at?

Thanks again.

Cheers

Australia / DUNLEAY/DUNLAY/DUNLEA Family
« on: Monday 17 January 11 06:56 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All

Hoping someone can help. Information at hand is as follows:

Johanna Dunleay arrived on the Neptune on 11th Feb 1844 in Sydney. Daughter of William Dunleay and Ellen as listed on her immigration papers.
Johanna was sent to work for a Mrs Morris of Penrith,Sydney. I have not been able to find her since. I have searched all the websites I can think off but to no avail.
Anyone related to this lady?
Anyone know anything about Mrs Morris?
Johanna's cousin Michael O'Brien arrived in 1845 and he lists Johanna Dunleay as a relative in the colony.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ken

Thanks for your help. I hadn't tried Find My Past as previous research with them wasted my money as they didn't have anything remotely related to my family in England. I have posted on Other Countries and see if that answers any questions.

Thanks
Tracy

Hi Cardiff

Thankyou very much for that information. I will search the Aussie records to see if George or Samuel came to Australia before James.

Hertfordshire / FENN Family - Tring
« on: Saturday 28 August 10 13:45 BST (UK)  »
Hi All

I have James Fenn born 22-12-1856 in Tring, Hertfordshire, baptisted 8-9-1867 Tring, Hertfordshire. Son of James Fenn and Mary ????(thought to be Budd).
What I do know for certain is he came to Australia aboard the "Ramsey" and arrived in Moreton Bay, Queensland on 29-6-1873, aged 16.
Trying to confirm parents.
Can't find him in the 1861 census but I think I found him in the 1871 census living at 17 Pittsone Street, Buckinghamshire living with Joseph and Elizabeth Jellis.

And help or suggestion most welcome.

Thankyou from an Aussie

Biddy
