Hi Angela,
I have been researching William and Mary's story for many years and it has been a real detective investigation.
Mary's children to William, Michael and Margaret, and her children to John Callinan, Catherine, John and Mary Jane, is a long complicated story.
After her marriage to John it seems the children were using various derivations as a surname. It appears around 1869/70 the five families took on the surname Callaghan.
I have compiled an 800 page book on all the families concerned.
I have never been able to establish what happened to Peter Mullens, Catherine's first husband.
I have been able to connect with some of Catherine's descendants of her daughter Mary Jane to Peter Mullens and a relative of her connection with Everitt Summons.
It is an ongoing research as their are still a few queries to sort out.
Angela is your connection to Annie Mortiss and Henry Gabriel Violet?

I was able to find another newspaper clipping on Trove with relation to the incident concerning William Brophy, The Constable, and the Christmas Goose story and it revealed that William incurred the nickname Goosey from the incident. It also reveals that he was Christened in Connaught.
The first record I have of William in NSW is that of being a constable around 1837/8.
The big question is how did he come to NSW? Some Constables were ex army and ex convicts. I have a record of Constables wages and William shows up in 1838. I had hoped to find a register showing further details of him joining as a Constable, but no luck so far.
The home invasion mentioned in 1845 Trove clippings shows William and Mary were residing in Sydney, so this discounts the record of a William Brophy dying in 1844 on BDM. This was a different William Brophy.
Mary under her maiden name White then married a John Callinan in Maitland in 1846 and obviously took the two children Michael and Margaret with her.
I have not been able to identify what happened to William Brophy after their split.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Sinann,
I was looking for the marriage of Daniel Bruggy and Bridget Finucane as their children's baptisms appear in the Parteen Meelick Register and John Bruggy was the first child baptized in 1832. I figured that Daniel and Bridget may have married maybe 1830, 1831 but wasn't able to find them.
I have traced a number of families back to births in the period 1794 to 1820 but it is hard to find records covering that period and finding parents.
Especially with Daniel Bruggy who may have married a Mary Mara before 1809.
Also a John? Bruggy born around 1743 and his wife Cathrine
Danaher born 1743. [Catherine died in 1809 aged 66 yrs and buried at Moneen graveyard.] Also any of their children.

Can anyone advise me if there are any records dating before 1828 in the Parteen Meelick Parish.
I am trying to find records relating to a Daniel Bruggy who may have married a Mary Mara before 1809.
Also any record of a John? Bruggy born around 1743 and his wife Cathrine
Danaher born 1743. Also any of their children.

I am endeavouring to connect the many familes with the various derivations of the name. Many went to the U.S.A. and some to Australia and England.
There are a couple of family descendants who still reside in Derrymore and Dublin.
I have also created a page on Facebook if anyone researching these names would like to join us they are welcome.

I would like to establish with some certainty that Thomas F Broggy is a child of Daniel Broggy and Bridget Finucane. As he doesn't show up in the Parish Baptism register with the others it makes me wonder.
Or does he belong to another family line. Cousin??
Daniel 1810-1813 may have had a brother Patrick.
A Daniel and Patrick show up on the 1856 Griffiths Evaluation and may have been brothers but is this Daniel 1810-13 and a brother Patrick or is it his father Daniel and his father's brother Patrick???
Need a Panadol.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
