Thank you once again Brummygirl.

Now, I'm hoping that William Newbold, the witness, turns out to be William Thompson Newbold, Abigail's brother. Then I'll have some certainty I'm tracing the John Newbold/ Martha Tompson family from Corley.

I am researching the Newbold family of Corley. I have in one of my trees an Amos Newbold whom I assume is related to the Newbolds of Corley. Amos's death was reported by the son-in-law of Henry Newbold, whom we assumed was Amos's brother.  Henry, who would have been the brother of Elizabeth, moved to Northumberland along with Amos. I have records and details of the Newbolds once they are in the northeast, but not prior to their appearance there.

I am now attempting to work backwards to their origin in Corley.

Other than Elizabeth, would you happen to have any information on her siblings - specifically Amos, if indeed  that was his name and he was her sibling? I cannot find Amos existing before his marriage to Hannah Hawkins in 1836.

Do you have a source for further information on Elizabeth's family?

Is this Elizabeth Newbold who married George Langshaw and then Thomas FADDAMAN the daughter of John Newbold and Martha Thompson of Corely?

There's a Hannah Simpson, aged 76, whose death was registered in September 1896 at Mile End. (Info comes from freebmd.) Perhaps the person you are searching for?

Hi Brummygirl,

Thank you so much for the rapid search and reply. This marriage record is my first sighting of Amos as he seemed to have evaded being "tagged" up to this point. I haven't managed to find any records establishing his existence prior to 1836. Marriage must have been good for him as he goes on to live until 1883.

I think the witness, Abigail Newbold was his sister - if I am following the correct family line. So now I have another name to use for my search.

Regards,
moli

Could someone please provide details of the marriage between

Amos Newbold  &  Hannah Hawkins on  25 DEC 1836 at
    Edgbaston, Warwick, England.

I am unfamiliar with the churches in Edgbaston so I am unable to state in which church the marriage took place. I am looking to find details of their parents, witnesses and occupation.

Thanks,
moli

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: unable to dechiper German handwriting

Thanks for the deciphering effort. Ann's (annmck) suggestions cracked it.

It was > JAN. The family name is Klepacky  (Klepacki) . He turns up in both the Ellis Island immigration and Trenton, New Jersey records as Jan (John) Klepacki. He was not at Mayers Ct. in any records that I've seen, thus far,  but that address exists in New Jersey.
