« on: Sunday 03 May 09 06:30 BST (UK)  »
I have a testament for John Wyllie, 1669, that names the following witnesses -

"... Mr. Wm Gemmill brother germane to Johne Gemmill of Templehous & Alexr Steill sone lawfull to John Steill in Commonecraig..."

Hope this helps someone. You can contact me for details

You are so right, there they are. I love those folks at the FHSs who work to put these indexes online for us all to use. Do you know if the CD has a transcription of the OPR burial/death record, or the MI, either, both?

Thanks again,
Katherine

I would appreciate it if SKS could check Whitburn cemetery(ies) for -

David Parker, died 1884
his wife Mary Forrest, died 1887
David's mother, Susannah Wardrope, who died 1851-1861

Thanks very much,
Katherine

Thanks so much for looking, Donna. As you said, none of the ages match to be my Hugh Parker, but at least I can cross this particular record source off my list of records to try. I notice that most of the deaths are of chilldren. I wonder if that reflects the true proportion of child to adult deaths in those days, or that a child's death was more likely to be noted in the parish records than an adult's death.

Hi Donna,
I have a person whose death I have been trying to track down:
Hugh Parker, death betw 1841 and 1851. He is in the 1841 census: Bogflat Stewarton age 70
but not in the 1851 census.

Thanks so much if you can find the time for this.
