Stirlingshire / Re: Ordnance Store - Stirling

Yes there was an Ordnance Store at Stirling ( Regional Depot Stirling Royal Army Ordnance  Corps.   It was sited in the Riverside area, across from the new footbridge at the railway station.  It started in the Victorian times and was relocated in 1980 to the Kerse Road area, next to the REME Workshop.  Some of the old Victorian buildings are still there, near the Vue Cinema.  The unit included a tailor shop.  The depot at Throsk was known as Royal Navy Armaments Depot Bandeath.  Ships used to come up as far as Throsk to re-arm.

It came from a family member who had been told about it.  I have come to the same conclusions you have.  Thank you so much for trying.

Sorry Anne

This was a private dig and not meant to be read by anyone else.

Are you related to John Harris?  Daniel was his brother, his record is is available.  He survived the war and emigrated to America.  Please contact me if you would like any further information.

Kind regards
