I know these posts are old but I am wondering whether you have details on the connection of William's father, George of Michelmersh and the Lawrence family of nearby Brook Somborne. Contact me *

Thanks for that Geoff - it might be worth further investigation.

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Re: Kirk's of West Ashby
« on: Wednesday 27 June 12 10:11 BST (UK)  »
I am not able to make out when you posted this! I am the great great grandson of John Kirk, who was the brother of William who was Jason Kirk's father. Have you managed to sort it all out? I may have it sorted! although some of what I have on my file is verging on conjecture. William's mother was Frances. According to the IGI John's mother was Mary - I am inclined to believe that Frances and Mary and the later Frances (because she re-emerges for subsequent Kirk brood) are one and the same. Frances Cordy married Joseph Kirk at Horsington in 1821 - the base camp for Cordys was at Bardney and in later censuses Frances Kirk gives Bardney as her birthplace. Frances Kirk remarried after Joseph's death in 1859 to William Coggle (1862) and died at Woodhall in 1889. Confused? oromai at xtra dot co dot nz

Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Re: Help sought with surname Scivier
« on: Saturday 03 September 11 12:18 BST (UK)  »
I am descended from the Sciviers - my 4xgreat grandfather was William Scivier whose daughter Hannah (chr at Hursley 1802) later married George Rogers. I don't know if this is the Hannah you are looking for. I believe that this family were from Pucknall which was part of the Hursley estate. Hannah's older sister, Elizabeth married James Webb at Michelmersh 1809. Hannah Rogers had a daughter, Eliza, abt 1848 and died 1867. The 1951 census lists Hannah Rogers at Ratlake with Louisa Haskell, her niece (the illeg daughter of her sister Ann.) I can give you more details for these if you could email me at oromai at xtra dot co dot nz ..........  I have no details on Wm Webb.

Alderney, Guernsey, Jersey, Sark / Re: Two Jersey Marriage lookup PLEASE!

Just for the record, William Landick was the son of Samuel Landick born abt 1812 in England (possibly Devon) and Mary Jerram chr at Hursley Hants in 1810 daughter of William Jerram and Mary Snelgrove. Mary Landick's mother (Mary Jerram/Jerum aged 70) was living at Broughton, Hants, in 1841 with her daughter Charlotte Marsh. The Jerram's seem to have been established in the Broughton / Mottisfont area - a stretch of road between Broughton and Mottisfont is called "Jerram's Hill". My great-great-great grandmother was another or Mary Landick's sisters, Sarah who married John Scivier at Michelmersh, Hants, in 1821.
