I'll get my act together in the next few days with regards to what I need to find but from memory it is the Roundhey/hedinley area. Will confirm more towards end of week when I get a break from work.
Thanks for all the help so far Brian and others.

I plan to visit Leeds next month and was wondering where the best place to go to look up parish records for the city, pre 1841. Any advice would be welcome as I don't know the city at all.
Thanks.

I'd be interested in anything you have! I have them in 1841 and 51, with William in 1861. I have Caroline dying in 1863 and William in 1866. William was supposed to have gone to Edinburgh college of surgeons but they have no record of him...may have been lost. There is also something a bit odd with their marriage as William is living as a lodger in 1851 and says he is unmarried in 1861! Caroline states she is a widow in 1851. Caroline was my gr, gr gr grandmother, their daughter Emily had Julia Ellen, who had my grandmother Ethel May.

That's odd my grandfather also had a greengrocers in Sunderland, around Chester Road area about war years(II) but I know very little about it. Name was Dickinson. I wonder if it was the same shop later on?
