Did Patrick marry Mary Harriet Dicker.

In 1881 and 1891 4028/26, Sarah has a granddaughter with her.
Florence Mary MacDonald b 1878.
Birth index shows mother as Dicker.

Where can I find this Dicker birth index reference please? As far as I'm aware the mother of this Florence Mary MacDonald was Lucy Leonora Feldman. Father John McDonald (possibly Patrick's brother).
Patrick married Bridget Brangan.

Figures - do you have a date when he left Whitby?
I notice the name Legg in your "wife's side". One of Joe's brothers married Daisy Legg. Any connection?

Yes please - I'd be delighted to read his playing career - I know he was a spectator at Wembley when Whitby came second in the amateur cup final.

Dr Joseph Parker Allinson (known as Joe) was born in Skinningrove 17th December 1907. He was the eldest of 3 brothers and lived as a child in New Company Row Skinningrove. He was a graduate of Sheffield University where he gained a PhD in Fuel Technology in 1937. He spent his working life in the oil industry, much of the time abroad managing oil refineries in Abadan and Aden, retiring from BP in the 1960s before finishing his working career as Secretary of the Institute of Petroleum in London. While at Sheffield he met Annie Holliday from Huddersfield. They were married in 1937 and had homes in Huddersfield and Marske-by-the-Sea before moving to Sutton south of London in the early1950s. Their 3 children grew up in Marske and Sutton. I don't know much about his footballing career other than that he played as a young man for Whitby United. Later in life he was an enthusiastic and low handicap golfer.

What would you like to know?
I'm a bit chary about putting a full bio online since family members are still around and may not want their privacy invaded. I notice you're based in Croydon, are on Ancestry Sweden and are a historian for Whitby Town - an odd combination?

Hello

I've only just noticed this thread.

Most of the information RickyJack is looking for is already to be found somewhere on RootsChat, but to summarise the McDonald family:

Flora McDonald (nee McDonald) married John McDonald in Kensington in 1905. They had 6 children the first of whom died in infancy.
The remaining 5 were Eustace James - Eust, Edmund George -Baldo, Enid Flora Sophie - Sis, Ronald Edward - Ron and Bernard Henry - Tim (my father). I met all of them except Flora (and the dead child of course)

Here's an Obit of John McDonald - hope this helps.

Hello Ricky Jack

Can I ask what is your connection to my family? Why is Barry not posting himself? Does Barrie (Barry?) MacDonald know who I am? Perhaps it would be best if you send me a Private Message. If it helps, Flora had 6 children, not 3.
