Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / trying to find who is in my pictures
« on: Friday 24 February 23 08:39 GMT (UK)  »
hi. I haven't been on roots chat for a few years. Today i was lucky enough to receive a number of old photos from Stuart Brothers and W.&J. Stuart from a family member. these are all numbered on the back. Is there any way to find out who the people in the photos are. I believe they are pre 1891.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

The Common Room / how do i find where she is buried?
« on: Monday 09 July 12 00:26 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
i am trying to find where my great grandmother and great grandfather would be buried. He died in Sketty Swansea Wales in 1942 and she died in  Camberley Blackwater Hants in 1948. I do not know if they were buried together or even where. They lived for a long time on Guernsey. My father would love to know as his fathers ashes were scattered on his mother after his died in 1968. Unfortunately as we in Australia i cant go and look at possible location. is there a register that i can access that gives information on burial locations for England?
Any assistance would be greatfully recieved

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / Ethildrede Vigers 1841 Census lookup please
« on: Tuesday 02 September 08 12:53 BST (UK)  »
Can some kind person please do a look up for me for Ethildrede Vigers in 1841. I am hoping she is with her father and stepmother John and Peace and younger half sister Elizabeth.

She was born in New York I believe in about 1833 and christened in St Marks Kennington London on 29 Aug 1834 as Sarah  Etheldrida Vigers(igi).

In 1851 she is living with a cousin and his family as Sarah E Vigers.
She married Richard John Hickman in 1857.
Any assistance would be greatfully appreciated

Thankyou Barbara for such a fast reply. The initial "C" should be an S but may have been miss transcribed. I have passed on the info to my father so hopefully it will be the right one. Thankyou again

World War Two / death certificates 1942
« on: Wednesday 02 July 08 14:45 BST (UK)  »
Hi I am trying to locate a death certificate for a Driver who died on 24 Jan 1942. He is listed on the Commonwealth War Graves and is buried in St Mary's at Sundridge. The name is Joseph George Sinclair White and he apparently died in an ambulance roll over in Horsham Sussex.
I can not find any mention of him in the free bdm's and wondered if there is somewhere else that the registration may be.
Any assistance would be greatfully received. He was 35 at time of death and married about 6 months
