Dear Celia and Mel

Thank you for your help!  Mel I'm sorry if I've confused you on dates ???.  Yes - when I went to Birkenhead Library I checked all denominations in Landican and also Flaybrick for both George and Alice's deaths but no record.

I am most keen to find anything on George's burial/obit etc.  I've just found out that he was a mason - would that have any bearing on where he was buried I wonder?  I found out by contacting his daughter's nephew who was the information on her death cert.  Luckily he was still at the same address 10 years on.  He's given me a few papers that George's daughter had but we still don't know where George is buried.

Like you say Celia - George and Alice may have been cremated.

I also found out that George and Alice were married in a methodist church in Birkenhead but it has no graveyard etc.

Thanks again

Barbara

Hi Celia

Sorry for not replying sooner - I have been in Turkey for two weeks holiday and only returned to UK this evening.

I have no idea where George or Alice are buried and have just found that their only daughter died in 1998 so no leads at all!

I would be grateful for any help or advice you can offer please?

Huge thanks

Barbara

PS If you need any further info please let me know.

Thanks again

B

Dear Celia

A nice lady called Ann - a member of Cheshire Roots Web recommended I get in touch with you as a Wirral burials expert  :)  I am struggling to find the whereabouts of my Great Uncle's burial and she suggested that you might be able to help please?

Great Uncle's name was George Eaton and he died 8/4/1960 in The Royal Infirmary, Liverpool.  However, he lived on Manor Hill in Birkenhead.  I believe he was CofE but not certain.  His wife was Alice I Eaton and she died 29/3/1984 at home, 82 Manor Hill, Claughton, Birkenhead.

I went to Birkenhead Central Library earlier in the week and searched Landican, Flaybrick and Wallasey records around the time of their deaths but to no avail.  I have never searched burial records before so maybe I missed something but if you could offer any assistance in finding their whereabouts I would be eternally grateful.

Photo of George attached for inspiration!

Best wishes

Barbara
