Hello

In my family the Spittel name was in Lye, so the Church they were baptized in was St Marys in Old Swinford.  I don't know about more resent Spittel people but this 15 yr old married my Grandfathers cousin Samuel Richards:

Hello Emma

Are you sure your Clara Gavan nee Foxall was born in 1912?

There was a Mrs. Gavan nee Foxall having children in Dudley in 1939, 1941, 1949, and 1953 all in Birmingham.

We coresponded a few years back, I can not find all my notes because I have moved my office, but Clara popped into my mind when I saw your entries on the web site.  I am not sure you will remember me.

You do have Clara's marriage to Edward Gavan in 1938 in Birmingham.

There is a Clara Foxall born 2nd quarter 1921 registered in Dudley, Staffordshire, here mother surname is Smith.
The Smith Foxall couple had at least 7 children registered  in Dudley between 1917 and 1931.

There was a William Foxall and Elizabeth R. Smith whose marriage was registered 1914 in Dudley.

I can not remember what you were researching years ago other than Clara's death.  But it might be easier for a woman born in 1921 to give birth in 1953 than a woman born in 1912.
