Thank you MollyC and IanC for your replies, I use the 46/47 in my written tree but it doesn't help on Ancestry.

The Common Room / Julian and Gregorian Calendars, problems
« on: Wednesday 15 October 25 19:45 BST (UK)  »
I am having problems with births marriages and deaths that occur in  January -March prior to 1752. How should I mark them on my tree, I have births before marriages, deaths before births. I have made notes but this doesn't solve them. Is there a right way to do this?

Thank you all for your replies. Your answers give credence to the hope I had that the father was Humfre in some form or other. Ancestry had Richard which I couldn't see.

Can anyone help me with Mary's name . I think the marriage took place April 22 but the rest of it is unclear.
I have seen Mary's name as Loneth and Houthe but I'm doubtful. Loneth is a name in other parts of the country but I haven't found any in Nottinghamshire which is where this marriager took place.

The Lighter Side / Re: What is your wildest coincidence?

I ordered the 1810 baptism certificate of my 2great grandfather, to my surprise the next entry was my husband's 3 great granduncle. The families moved away from that area and it wasn't until I started researching that I knew that our ancestors came from the same area.

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: How reliable are matches

Thank you 4b2 for your suggestions. I have been charting the strands from the presumed ancestor to the DNA match, most seem to work though there are anomalies with the shared matches.
