The 1860 Name Books were compiled to provide place names to be used in the forthcoming First Edition OS maps. Searching Hazelridge/Hazelrigg only appears to provide hits in Chatton parish.

Jobson records his birth place differently on every census - 1841 Northumberland, 1851 Hazelbridge, 1861 Lowick, 1871 Wooler, 1881 Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Does anyone know where Hazelbridge was located. I can't seem to find anything about it.

A place called Hazelrigg was a township of the parish of Chatton, which is fairly close to both Lowick and Wooler. A possibility?

If you are referring to an Ancestry transcription, one reason might be the use of drop down lists  as explained in this thread here, when I enquired why Esh in County Durham had been moved to the Western Saraha.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: 1891 census entry occupation?
« on: Saturday 21 February 26 11:36 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone decide what was originally written against Elizabeth King please?

It says nurse then another short word, scribbled out later and annotated with sick.

I wonder if the scribbled out word might possibly have been 'dom[estic]'?

This is from the dictionary of occupational terms (admittedly based on a later census)
nurse, domestic ; children's nurse, mother's help, nursemaid, nurse sewing maid
takes charge of children or babies; washes, dresses them and takes them out; prepares any special foods for them; sews, mends, darns, cleans nursery, and does children's washing if required.

(The word nurse was added later by someone extracting information from the census for statistical purposes.)

I don’t think the cemetery records are online anywhere.
The Findagrave memorial was created by river Tyne lass who is also a rootschatter so I have sent her a message in the hope she can help if she has time.

Welcome to Rootschat  :)

You might want to modify your subject line, as Preston Cemetery is in North Shields, not South Shields. >:( ;D ;D >:(

Added - I see you did that while I was typing  ;D

I’ve seen some nonsensical indexing on Ancestry and this is well up with the best.

Apparently 60 year old  ‘May Kent’ was one of the two wives of 28 year old ‘Jas’ Kent, and the same 28 year old  ‘Jas’ had a 24 year old son. ‘Jas’ was also female (male).

If you are using Ancestry she has been incorrectly indexed as May Kent aged 60 born North Shields together with son James (Kent) aged 24  born Scotland and living in Sunderland. RG 12/4151/58/29.

She is correctly indexed as Mary Blenkinsop on FindMyPast.
