Hi

No, thats all!

However tell me, as I am new to RootsChat whats the difference with the ranking at the side of the posting - I see I'm an "extra", you're a "senior" and I've noticed other rankings?

Herefordshire Lookup Requests / Hereford Militia

Hi

Can any one help me to find out where I might try to locate info on the Hereford Militia and where & when they were serving outside of the Country. My 2 GGF William Henry Howell was a colour sergeant with them. He had sons born in Ireland from abt 1855 - 1858 (can't find any certificates for them) & by 1861 was at Bartonsham Barracks, Hereford and died in 1865.

Thanks Gaye

Hi Meliora

Yes, had seen this Jeremiah from Rutland. Jeremiah died in 1844 in Brighton and I did find him and his family there in 1841 (not the same jeremiah as living in St Pancras) Funny though because it took me ages to find him and his family and Parkinson was transcribed as "Hokanson" - can you believe that  ::), its actually a wonder I found them at all, anyway it just gives it that he was born outside of the county of Sussex. So that doesn't help either and nether does the fact that he had died before the next one.

I am running out of places to look, am wondering if anyone has access to Islington settlement certificates to see if they were named in them.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Islington & Marylebone baptisms
« on: Thursday 03 April 08 20:17 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Is there anyone out there that might be able to look at the Islington and/or Marylebone baptismal records for me? I am looking for a Jeremiah Parkinson b abt 1793. He married in Marylebone 1817 and was living and having children starting in 1818 in Islington, living as a greengrocer in Back Road, Islington, third child was baptised in Marylebone.

Any help would be appreciated. 8)

Thanks Gaye

Hi China

Yes, have found Elizabeth, her maiden name is Franks and she came from Dorking, infact Jeremiah & her married there according to the IGI. However I have looked at the parish records (baptisms) for Dorking and there are no Parkinson entries at all apart from her burial in 1809 when she is described as Mrs Jeremiah Parkinson. Maybe my Jeremiah is nothing to do with this Jeremiah & Elizabeth anyway & perhaps I should concentrate on the Islington area where he & wife Fanny were having children. In 1818 he is a greengrocer, abode listed as Back Road, Islington which I believe is now the modern Liverpool Road. This is where their first 2 children where born, they then moved to Marylebone and then down to Brighton.
Maybe someone might be able to look at the Islington parish records for me?

Any other idea's would be welcomed.

Thanks Gaye
