Thank you.  I have Elizabeth's death cert. Reynold's Court was off Type Street.  Elizabeth died from cholera.

Thank you everyone for trying to help.

It's so confusing isn't it.  I found all the Banns and didn't know what to make of it.  Elizabeth Simpson was married previously - to someone called Cannon but I can't find their marriage.  Perhaps he wasn't actually dead when she married George.  I have seen this before on another branch of my tree.  It's also annoying knowing where they lived in 1841 but the census hasn't survived for their street - it might have shown other children/relatives.

Harriet's son (George) was born illegitimately and she married Robert Wolfe later.  I have had contact with a decendent of this George.  Far too many George's!

I have found James b1840 on the 1861 census - and a possible for Alfred but I'm not 100% certain it's the right one.  I would love to know what happened to George b1800.

Thanks LizzieL - I have seen most of these entries and it's very confusing.

I think there are 2 (and probably 3) men named George Wrecks/Wricks Wright; they were all stone masons.  I have the death cert. for one of them but can't locate the other two.  With a name like Wright it's proving difficult as I can't even be certain of the parish.  I don't know how people manage to get back to the early 1700s :(

My ancestors lived in Reynolds Court, Crippelgate from around 1830 to 1848 (I have various court, newspaper, baptism records to prove this).  Unfortunately this street is incomplete in the 1841 census.

All I have is the 1851 census to go on (father born Ireland; mother dead; children born London). Its a common name (Wright or Wrecks/Wricks) and so far I can'f find the death of the father.

Are there any other London records I could search that might tell me more?

To add to my confusion, I have at least 2 (if not 3) generations with the same first and last name.

Thanks - I've not heard of AGRA - I'll give them a go.

Thanks for the additional links too.

I've never tried these records before so don't know what to expect.

Thank you both for replying.  I have now emailed Bristol Archives.  I have had contact with them in the past but not found them very helpful.  I don't think they will recommend a researcher but I will ask.

Can anyone confirm if Bristol Archives holds bastardy records for:

Bristol 1907-1911 and 1889-1892

If so and I pay a researcher what sort of info would I need to supply - I'm assuming child's name and dob - anything else?

Thank you,

Thanks Alan - I'm curious as to how he was injured - will have to find out what was going on at that time.
