Hi Davy,
hope you are feeling better?
Hope you can help me by visiting Tudhoe Cemetery for my gt granny Jane Wiseman, nee Ramage,
she died 8th July 1896; buried 12th July 1896. She is
in Section B; grave 346. I don't know if there's a headstone or if she even has a grave to herself.

Thanks in anticipation,  Moira

Oh no, that must be so disappointing for you Martin. I had to delete a whole branch once and it's no fun.
Good luck and thanks for letting me know,
Moira

Thanks JayG for the info. That's where I found out where she was buried.
And Martin, thanks very much for the offer. Whenever you get there I'd be grateful for a photo of the place. She's in Section B, grave 346.
Thanks,
Moira

Durham / Re: Archibald Ramage & Smithson Peverall

Hello again,
have followed up the info given about Archie and it looks like our Archie and it would also match the Archibald Ramage born 1714 in Duddingston, nr Edinburgh. This would make his parents James Ramadge and Margaret Torrence.
The Leeds Intelligencer newspaper also has a reference to Archie in 1790 when he was discharged from Leeds Infirmary for 'irregularities'! Does anyone know anything about old hospital-speak that would cast any light on what constitututed an irregularity?
In 1762 the same paper carries an advert for an apprentice and describes Archie as "The said Mr Ramage manufactures & sells by wholesale & retail all sorts of tobacco & snuff at the lowest prices"
