Durham / Re: Tammy married her daughter off - ELLINgTON Family

The Duncan Wilson mentioned in the post above, who married Deborah Tannenbaum in 1942 (3b 1013) is my grandfather. He was born in 1915 and had the middle name Whyte, which was his mother's maiden name; he was also a Scottish traveller, so I believe he can be knocked off your list.

Hi
I'm a descendant of Betsy Whyte, done a lot of research on the Whytes and the Stewarts. There are many records on Scotland's people as well as on http://libindx.moray.gov.uk/mainmenu.asp. I haven't read all the replies however I'm happy to help if I can.

Hi
Thanks for that Ev l knew that they had moved down to Edinburgh but l never realised he had put Ellon down as his Birthplace. Still can't find his birth entry though not showing up anywhere in Scotland.

Higgsy l double checked the marriage and death entry's and they both say Wilson nee McDonald although l'm not finding a marriage listed for them either.

Aberdeenshire / William Wilson
« on: Tuesday 24 April 12 21:01 BST (UK)  »
Hi
I was wondering if anyone can help me with finding more information on William. I have his death entry in 1911 (age 82) and his Marriage to Agnes Fraser in 1860 (age 23) both in Rothes. These both say his parents are James Wilson Farmer/General labour and Catherine McDonald. I have also the 1861 census which shows William and Agnes again in Rothes, however this shows that Williams’s place of birth is Methlick, Aberdeenshire but l can't find a birth anywhere of a William in Methlick to these parents.  I’m thinking he was born in the period  1828 – 1837 going from the certificates l’ve found but l just can't find him has anyone come across this family before ?
