Lanarkshire / Stewart Russell/Marion Wallace Russell Descendants?
« on: Saturday 02 August 08 17:31 BST (UK)  »
Hello-
These are my Grt.Grt.Grt. Grandparents and I am hopeing to connect with some of Marion Wallace Russell's descendants who are still in Scotland. All
I really have to go on is an approximate year of birth as 1813,of Wishaw-
town,Cambusnethan,Lanark,Scotland. This information came from the
LDS (Latter Day Saints) site ,so am not sure of accuracy. Family records list
the Wallace family as arriveing in the USA in 1850. Stewart and Marion had
5 daughters-Jean,Ann,Susan,Marion and Mary. I also have an 1880 Census
record listing her age as 63,making the birth year 1817(can't really count on this either ,since many people don't give accurate ages) Anyway---- hope
to hear from someone--Best Regards,Renee

England / Re: Fairbrass family connection
« on: Wednesday 07 March 07 13:21 GMT (UK)  »
My Thanks to both Catherine and Welsh Lady for their re-
sponse to my query. I do have this couple and have not
entirely ruled out the possibility that they could be the ones
I am looking for. At this point,I am hoping to find another
family member with actual proof of a connection. The LDS
site is the one with the most inaccurate information on
Thomas and Amy and various Alberts, except,of course, for
the 1881 Census. I have also been searching Family Trees
for any connections. So far, there is nothing, but,it takes a
very long time to do the searching, and I enjoy it,so,I am
sure to find something. My thanks to you both, once again,
and my regards to you both---Renee

Gloucestershire / Re: Davis from Gloucestershire
« on: Tuesday 06 March 07 16:04 GMT (UK)  »
I am researching a William Davis,b. Oct.91811 in Glouchest-
er,married to Keziah Geers,b.July 2,1813,married in Paunt-
ley. This couple had many children,I am not sure of all their
names, but one is ,supposedly, my grt.grt.grandmother Amy.
Does any of this connect to your William or any family mem-
ber? One of their children,aWilliam, was born Oct.71841. Any
connection? Like you,I am having great difficulty finding out
any proof of my Davis family. And,not helping,is the poss-
ible name variants. Well-thanks and best regards-Renee

England / Fairbrass family connection
« on: Tuesday 06 March 07 15:26 GMT (UK)  »
Would appreciate any information on the Fairbrass line
from England. I would like to compare what I have, with any
Fairbrass line,to see if I can find a connection. I am at a dead end now. My grt.grandfather was Albert Fairbrass,b.
1861//64,to,supposedly,Thomas and Amy(Davis) Fairbrass from England.Albert married Bertha Ebright and one of their
children was Oliver,b.1889;my grandfather. I do not have proof of any other information and all references I do have, are clouded with inaccurate dates and names. I hope to just browse another Fairbrass line and perhaps find a
lead. Any help would be appreciated-Thanks and best re-
gards---Renee

The Common Room / Re: what is an Enderd?
« on: Wednesday 10 January 07 13:31 GMT (UK)  »
I "Googled" the word "enderd. Here is one Quote on the word:
  "The necessity of water Baptism.
which does, however, believe in the necessity of Baptism, though I agree that if one died after choosing baptism,or is "Enderd",from Baptism, they can still...."
So,in this context, has something to do with religion. I also saw a reference to the game,"Dungeons and Dragons",but don't think it would apply to your entry. Also,
I believe, even students who boarded at schools could be taken in as servants or bonded as future teachers to pay
their tuition.

Hi,
Even though the spelling is wrong, could someone have meant "Indentured". As in
referring to the person being bonded to the
owner or resident?

Scotland / Manners, Hamilton,Ferguson,Corse(Croess) from 1600-1800's??

Hi,
Have been searching for ANYONE left of my family in Scotland and so far, no results. I can't go there and I can not pick up any leads doing what I have been doing, so --Are there any of these names someone has a connection to,but does not maybe have the spouses maiden or last name? Possibly a relative married someone not named, but maybe a relative was mentioned? Maybe your research does not go as far back as 1657,so you have no further information? Some of these had 2 spouses also, so there may be a connection this way. Thanks---Renee
