Hi Maureen, we lived at 94 Broardmere drive. I lived opposite Angela Hilton who I tracked down a couple of years ago. We had a brilliant day out in Blackpool with her and her husband.

Hi Maureen, I remember a lad called Murray, Gerald I think. I remember they had a quite mangy looking dog. Gerald dropped a Bengo match down my brothers wellie once and caused a small burn on his foot. Wonder if it was the same Murray?

Wonderful, thank you. The next picture is the same school but my younger brothers class which was the year below mine, same year. If anybody recognises themselves in here please let us know.

Sorry, can't do. Even if I scan the pic at the lowest resolution and crop the outside edges off it's too big. The forum limit of 500K is way too low. The smallest I can get the file size and still have it decent is 1.6M. If anybody would like to see it PM me and I'll send it you.

Edit, pic may be here soon. By the way, I am the hansom little devil on the front row left.

Wow, haven't been here for a while but then a post from John and a PM from the lad we used to live next door to, brilliant. I have just got in from a night shift but I recently got hold of a school photo taken at Heaton Park Primary school, around 1960. I'm on it and I recognise many of the other kids. I will try and post it later.
Thanks all.

Inkwise, no problem sending the page but I could do with your email address. The file is 1.7Mb and is too big to attach here. If you send me a PM I'll send it you.
I have no problem resizing pictures, what I don't know is how to resize them on the forum after the have already been posted?

Sorry if the pic is a bit large, again. I scanned it at quite a high resolution so the street names would be clear.
And BarbaraH, the girl I used to live opposite told me her Aunty used to live on the next road at the back of their prefab, which would have been Erlmere.

Hi all,
so sorry for not replying sooner. About the picture size, I'm not sure how to resize it once it's posted, if anybody wants to, please do.
Here is a copy of an A to Z page showing the roads on the prefab estates. I only have this and the adjoining page but can post the whole thing if anybody wants it.
Cheers all.

PS. I am named after my father so he always got Bill and I got Billy. I am Billy in the family but Bill to everybody else.  :)
