Hi Elvina, Just wondering if you have  the 1900 Bungay registers?  Many Thanks

Hi Joanne,

Yes, I have both Bungay parishes covering 1900.

Hi Sally,

I've checked the Bungay St Mary registers and I'm afraid there is no Gil or Gill there.

I don't have the registers for Bungay Holy Trinity for the right period.

Elvina

There was a Congregational church in Upper Olland Street, Bungay. My grandfather's funeral was held there. According to the Bungay website, It's now called the Emmanuel Church. This is the link:-

The Lighter Side / Aristocratic links
« on: Tuesday 12 October 10 12:25 BST (UK)  »
Has anyone come across a link to the aristocracy through an acknowledged illegitimate birth? I was surprised to find one in my father's family and I just wondered how common these links are.

I'm always amused by the fact that so many of my ancestors were born in Essex, Massachussetts, rather than that other Essex in England. Colchester, Massachussetts, no less!

(now I've said that there probably *is* a Colchester in Massachussetts, but you know what I mean!).

I've found similar entries on Ancestry trees. I think it's something to do with Family Tree Maker which gives suggestions for places when you make an entry and you don't notice. I've done it myself a couple of times until I learnt to check my entries carefully.

Norfolk / Charlotte Slipper and the Walpole family

Is anyone else researching Charlotte Slipper who had an illegitimate child by one of the Walpoles? She married a distant cousin of my father, John Tipple. Her son was Matthew Slipper.

I find FTM 2008 an improvement on previous versions regarding layout.

Also, it doesn't replace previous versions when it's loaded so I've kept both and switch between them according to what I want to do.

Elvina.
