Merionethshire Lookup Requests / Information about Y Rhedegydd
« on: Monday 31 January 11 09:48 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
I am trying to find out details of a concert in aid of my grandfather Rowland Evans held at Central Hall in Blaenau Ffestinog. He had a back injury at his work in the quarry. He died in 1934.
I  was wondering if the local paper  Y Rhedegydd reported the facts. could anyone suggest where to look for the archives of the paper who has been closed down for years.

Thank you
Eryl

Hi Jan,
Thank you for your reply, it helps clarify things, just not thinking straight, a fresh eye from another angle is great thing to have.
Thank you for the details of the death of William Ritchie. Can you tell me how much personal  details there would be if I sent for a death certificate? and if it would be worth it.

Thank you again

Surrey Lookup Requests / William Ritchie death records
« on: Tuesday 20 July 10 11:25 BST (UK)  »
Hello again, I am having difficulty in finding death records. He was born in 1812 in Musselburgh, Scotland and appears in 1861 census in Wonersh, Surrey. William Ritchie Leather dresser is shown on 8th October 1866 Christ Church, Battersea on wedding details..I presume that he died before the 1871 census. Can any one help please?

Regards

Surrey / Re: Birth/death lookups> Ritchie family

Thank you both Valda and Linda for your prompt replies,  it has shown me a new line to pursue. I presume that Susanna not being present at 1861 Census as Wedding  cert shows.

Valda's querying enumerator error could be because of William Ritchie's Scottish accent, because place of Birth shown as Scotland in 1851 and  Musselburgh being entered as Merrselbury on 1861 Census. I queried this with the Scottish Office.

I presume that Sarah Frances has died but cannot find any record of either birth or death on search in Find my past. Can any one help by shedding any light please

Down / Henry James Hogg lookup
« on: Monday 14 June 10 08:15 BST (UK)  »
Very little info about the above, was born in 1901 ( same year that Queen Victoria died). family talk about Downpatrick and entry on postcard mentions Clough or Chough, writing not very clear. Had brother & sister Joseph and Mary Hogg.

His father died when he was young,, became bread winner very young, eventually joined the Inneskillins.
Could anyone help
