Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / George Brown living in Alkington parish 1841
« on: Friday 09 August 13 16:52 BST (UK)  »
I have recently discovered this is the family of my mother who was born illegitimately in 1920. I have traced back to a George Brown born 1796 but I don't know where.

In 1841 he was living in Alkington Parish with his children but had no wife. I need to find his marriage or the death of his wife.

Is this a request too far? If so I'm sorry. I'm not certain because although registered here some time ago I have not used the site.

If anybody could help that would be great.

You can read the amazing story of how I got this far - that is finding my mothers father who was had the helpful name of  "Brown" here if it is of interest.

Occupation Interests / Re: Watch Maker
« on: Saturday 23 February 08 21:31 GMT (UK)  »
Hello all. I'm new on these pages. I am looking for watchmakers in Clerkenwell called Naylor. I have one in my Family. Born Clerkenwell 1820. I have nothing before him. I have no address for him either. He moved to Coventry.

Liverpool, Clerkenwell and Coventry were the three main watchmaking centres. I believe his family were from Liverpool as the name Naylor is grouped around there, moreover one of his daughters was born there. You can find out about this Naylor and the watchmakers of Coventry here...

Hope to hear from somebody as I have hit a brickwall.
