Hello,

Thanks for your reply re:  Burke/mooney family.  I was interested to see you have a middle name for Martin Mooney.  Which family does Thomas Mooney belong to?  I would love to see any certificates you may have.  I have recently found out that there was a daughter born in 1851 to Martin and Mary Burke called Bridget.  Sadly she died in the same year, but it is still another name to add to the tree.

Regards

Sue

I am amazed at the quick reply.  Even though its not what I want to hear.  If this is the case, I will never be able to find her.  Thanks anyway.

I have been browsing for the first time on this site and am very impressed by the amount of help people have been given with regards to the family history, so I am therefore going to give it a try.

Like many other people I have hit a brick wall with my ancestors.

I am looking for Mary Burke  born in 1855 in Walsall, she married Michael Mooney in 1871, have marriage certificate, I have her in 1871 in the census, living with parents Martin Burke b Ire abt 1826, mother Mary (nee Martin) b Galway Ire abt 1827, brothers Martin b 1859 Ire, John 1849 Walsall and Michael 1853 Walsall.  Mary married Michael Mooney a few days after her birthday and the marriage certificate states she was 17, although the census puts her at 15.  They had  three children James 1873, Michael 1875 and Martin 1878.

In the 1881 census I have James Mooney and Martin living with grandparents in Walsall.  Michael is with his father  living in lodgings but Mary is no where to be found, Michael is also stated to still  be married.   I cannot find a death certificate and cannot find her on the census anywhere else.  I dont know where she could be and why did she leave her children, I have looked everywhere but with no luck.

Can anyone out there help.

Or maybe there is someone related to the Burkes or Mooneys.

Looking forward to some answers.

Sue
