Hi opps,

Thanks for your info.  I don't think he is the right George either.

I have found both George & Mary in the 'FindmyPast' passenger list for 1929 -39. As my list does not have any details what you have given me will still be useful for my general Trott database.

Where did you find all your details?

Has anybody got any info. on a George Lyddon Trott, please?  He was born about 1880 in Wallasey, Cheshire (reg'd Birkenhead) and was a son of William & Rebecca Trott.

He was my great uncle but he seems to have gone to Canada sometime after 1915.

Completed Census Requests / Re: Edward Lapthorn Trott

Hi Gaie,

I have just found Hephzibah Woodward (8) in the 1861 census for Greenwich, together with her widowed mother, Susanna and sisters, Martha (16) & Harriet (3).

I have not been able to find Hephzibah in 1871 although I did eventually find her mother, Susanna twice!  Once living with her married daughter, Martha & Edward Lapthorn Trott. (see earlier posting from rick1) and also as a cousin, William J Hunt (both in Greenwich).

Note to rick1

I have eventually found 1871 census record for Edward L Trott - but not directly. I searched for his son Herbert, born 1870 as a Trett.

Thanks again for your info.

Hi Gaie,

Thanks for the info.  If Woodward is correct for Hephzbah's maiden name it would mean that Edward married his late wife's sister!

Wow, that was quick.  Thanks at lot ricky1.

Edward is not relation to me but I have a lot of Trotts etc on a database and I was missing that bit about him.

Do you have any Trott connections yourself?

Completed Census Requests / Edward Lapthorn TROTT - 1871 Census
« on: Tuesday 19 February 08 22:37 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find this Edward in the 1871 census. I have him in all censuses from 1851, when he was 8, to 1901, except '71.

He was born in Shepperton, Surrey in 1843 to William & Mary Trott. He was married to Martha Elizabeth Woodward in 1865 (reg'd in London) She died in 1883, so in 1871 he would have been 28 & married. In 1881 they lived in Bolton, Lancs.

He married again in 1885, to Hephzbah ?, in Bolton. He died in 1921, aged 78 in Fylde, Lancs.

Can anyone help with any info, please? :)

Gadget,

Thanks for your very prompt reply :)

I am a member of TONRG (Trott One Name Research Group) and hold and manage the main database (includes Tratts & Tretts etc.). Do a search for TONRG and see what I mean.

I am always looking for bits of info to add to or correct what I already have. I have already found the info about Henry Trott and Ann Addiscott useful (all due to orphan Willie ;D

Yes, Trott mainly came from Somerset/Devon area originally but a lot went to S Wales in the mid 19C.
