New Zealand Completed Requests / Re: **COMPLETED** ITM lookup please......
« on: Wednesday 18 May 11 02:34 BST (UK)  »
I found your thread purely by accident......not realising that you had posted a whole year ago.
I am certainly keen to make contact with you as I too am a descendant of William Joseph and Janet.

I'm not sure about the William Douglas name but my line is as follows:
Andrew Turnbull Anderson
William Joseph Anderson
William George Anderson
William Stanley Anderson
Richard Alexander Anderson
then me !

I have a wonderful 4 gen photo with William Stanley as a baby....a real treasure.........and happy to share if you would like a copy.

Hope to hear from you  :)
Cheers

Hi there

I'm hoping some kind person could look up the following probate file

ANDREWS John
BAZZ - 1570 -  Box4257 - 3481/1988

I'm looking for details of family names and his service number/rank as he served in WWII in the Navy
I have been sent copies of his headstone but I'm unable to read the service numbers in the photo !!!

I'm more than happy to do any Christchurch searches in return.

Many thanks

Riley, thank you for all your efforts.

Well I just received a reply from the Hocken Library........Dunedin people are so accommodating  :)

"Please find attached copies of reports of the arrival of the Electric from the Daily Telegraph of 4th and 5th June 1863 and Otago Daily Times of 4th, 5th and 9th June 1863. Unfortunately the names of the steerage passengers were not given and we do not hold any separate passenger lists for that voyage."

So my only hope is if you find anything at Archives Wgtn
This ship came direct from Glasgow so my info re Annie being born in TAS must be incorrect.
I am definately going to request her marriage cert !

Have a good day  ;)

Love the expressions Zephyr  :D

Hi Riley

Shocking alright..........yes I had found these articles.
This is part of the reason for my hunt. If this is the correct father, and the same one that also assaulted his wife (refer Papers Past 9/10/1872) then poor Annie had some interesting parents !!
There is also a "Lunacy Case File" held for an Ann Borland at the Dunedin Archives Office
I just made a trip to Dunedin..........wished I'd found this earlier so I could have viewed the file - will have to wait till next time.
Unless there's someone in Dunedin who do a lookup for me ...........PLEASE !!

I received a reply back from the Port Chalmers Museum (very speedy)
They confirmed the ELECTRIC ship but no passenger lists
The Annie Anderson they had listed didn't seem to fit.
He did suggest that The Hocken Library holds an account of the voyage - so will try that avenue next.

If you need any Chch lookups let me know - I really like they way people are keen to help each other.

Cheers

Thank you Riley

I'm thinking I'll put a search request to the Andrew Turnbull Library and see if they have any shipping lists

Appreciate your help
