called into the library yesterday - unfortunately the years you require for Horsforth  are held in the West Yorkshire Archives in Wakefield on microfiche and  I would  need to 'book' a machine - I have intended going for ages as I need to check some records held there, not as 'handy' as Leeds City Library! but I will make an effort to go now, not sure when, but hopefully in the next few weeks

there's also South Yorkshire Times and think there used to be (or still is) a Barnsley edition of the Star.

All the local paper archives are held at the Library, Shambles Street.
