Hi everyone,

was just wondering how many people have had an experience of researching an ancestor using the census then birth certificate only to find on their wedding certificate that their ancestor has suddenly got a middle name which didn't exist on their birth certificate.

Can anyone offer an explanation why this should happen, can be very confusing.

Thanks everyone for your help,

Hi,

Does anybody know whether it would be possible to find which cemetary my great grandfather was buried in Ipswich.

His name was George Bolton, died in 1933 and lived in Bond Street, Ipswich.

Any help much appreciated

Hi
i have had some success researching my ancestors over the last few years and other than building my tree on the ancestry site haven't yet found a good method of storing the information.

I know there are lots of good computer programs that are recommended, but i don't enjoy computers much and would like to draw up my own charts.

Just wondered if anyone can offer any advice about how i should go about doing this.

Thanks

World War One / Badge identification
« on: Monday 11 January 10 18:21 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
a photo of my grandfather and his brother taken during the first world war.

My grandfather is in uniform on the left but i'm keen to identify the badge as worn by his younger brother beside him.
His brother died in 1918 from Influenza, aged 18, so not long after this photo was taken and he was in the Merchent navy. They were both born in Ipswich.

Any info about the photo would be appreciated but in particular the badge.

Thanks

Witnesses are a Emily Smith and a Robert Sergeant.

I believe Robert Sergeant married Jessie Garrard who was George Boltons Wifes sister.

Can this help??

Thanks
