Northamptonshire Lookup Requests / PAULERSPURY & POTTERSPURY

Hello
I have just started research on behalf of a friend and I am a little confused as to the two place names as above. I am not too familiar with the county of Northamptonshire
I am finding it difficult to differentiate the two when searching for an Alfred Manning born c1837. Think I have found him on the 1841 but then he goes "missing" in 1851  and 1861.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Vivienne

Hampshire & IOW Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Alexandra Hospital Cosham
« on: Monday 25 August 08 23:29 BST (UK)  »
Hello

The Queen Alexandra Hospital is on Portsdown Hill overlooking Cosham which is  an area of Portsmouth
I believe it was originally built in the early 1900,s as a military hospital. You can read more about it's history at
www.localhistories.org/qa.html
Nowadays it is one of the main hospitals serving the Portsmouth area .... I should know as I have been there a few times both as an outpatient and visitor !

Is this the marriage?

Henry Stovel & Lydia Saunders, both otp, by banns, 26 December 1816 in Slaugham

Any particular reason to think they may have married in Hampshire, or should I move this to Sussex?  ;)

Nell

YES please Nell...... a "senior" moment on my part !

Thanks

Hello Mumsie

Don't know why I posted my topic as Hampshire........ one of those "senior" moments I suppose !
Interesting to note that Bolney, Slaugham and Twineham are close to each other as it serves to confirm we have the correct names that I am searching for.

Thanks

Hello

Thanks very much all you people out there... I think you might have solved my "little problem" ! My little tree has grown a few branches.

As a novice in family history (only been doing it for 12 months), I would be interested to know how you came about this particular information ? I would love to be able to find future queries myself, as part of the addiction that is known as family research is the detective work involved.  This is the only addiction that I know of which is FUN !

Hello

Thanks for that info folks......
I do not subscribe to any ancestry sites ( cheapskate !).... I use the free Ancestry.Com at my local library here in Portsmouth so when I am down there next week I will check out your leads and get back to you.
