Hi, my family tree goes back to Richard Goulden and Magdaleine Coue.  I have a lot of information on the tree.  Can I help at all?

Hi my name is Gilda and I am researching my husbands family tree of Horton.

James is in his tree and William is his great great grandfather.  He married Eliza Hards.

I would love to hear from and maybe swap info.  I can be contacted direct on email address removed by moderator - please use the secure Rootschat personal message system to exchange email addresses - thankyou
Gilda :)

Matt

Have just had a look in the churchyard and can find no Denne's.  However some of the very old headstones are very faded and unreadable.

Have another avenue to look and will get back to you.

Hello Matt

Kingston is my parish church.  It is called St Giles and I will have a mooch round the churchyard and see what I can find.

Family History Beginners Board / Re: How to File Family History Paperwork?
« on: Friday 16 May 08 15:31 BST (UK)  »
I have four main files in which I have grandparents, great grandparents and so on backwards divided into their pairs with their certificates and other papers that I may find.  I also type out a main sheet with all the information I need on it.  I then have a myriad of other files for children and their families.

I do need a way of cutting down on the amount of files that I have as they take up far too much room but this system works for me.

All files are labelled and I can find them easily when working on a particular family.

The Common Room / Re: Why genealogy?
« on: Tuesday 13 May 08 14:24 BST (UK)  »
Being rather bored at work today I have just read this message and all the replies and feel I have to say that I agree with everything that has been said.

I started my family tree about 7-8 years ago.  Not only did I start mine but my husbands also, so I tend to dip in and out of both.  I am totally absorbed and hooked.  It is like a drug, a need a daily fix!

I too find that people glaze over when they ask what hobbies you have and you say genealogy and then they quickly change the subject.  I now have a 1 year old grandson and a grand daughter of a couple of months old so I shall, on the quiet and as they get older, get them interested and then I shall have someone to talk to about it.
