Hi I am  trying to find my mothers side of the family.  Her Mother was Violet Williamson Stanton (nee Bird) her father was John Bird and her mother Martha Bird (nee Carver).

The family lived in Ashwell I think or possibly Wrestlingworth

Hope someone can help and perhaps have a photo as I have never seen a picture of my grandmother

Could anyone shed any light on the Bird family from Ashwell.  Violet was my grandmother but died when mum was very young.  I haven't been able to find anything about the family but I know my great grandmothers name was Martha Carver, married to John Bird.

Any information especially photo's will be gratefully received.

Thank you Valda for the information.  The two sisters you have mentioned were my mothers half sisters.  I will have to keep searching for the school, it might not have been called Wembley school or may have been bombed I suppose.  I will keep looking.  Thank you again for your help.

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me.  My mother was taken from Hinxworth, Hertfordshire to London by her half sisters after her mother died.  She was about eight or nine at the time.  The sisters, Ada and Emily put mum and her younger sister into a boarding school (thats what mum always called it)  It was called Wembley School. or maybe Wembley school for girls.  She was there from 1921/2 until the age of 16 I believe.

I would be grateful for any information.

Carol

ps: I believe Emily's husband had something to do with Shepherds Bush Market and information on her and Ada would also be appreciated.

Hi Pauline.

Did you have dark curly hair?  I remember one of the children who visited us was the image of my younger brother Rodney and about the same age.  He had dark curly hair as have most of the boys in my family.  They hate it.

We did visit Aubrey and Pheobe several times  I met George and his wife they had a son he was about ten then.

Leslie used to live with us.  He never married.  Eric and his wife Sylvia moved in with Grandad (Henry Pearce) and Leslie after Granny died. When Eric and Sylvia moved to Watford after Grandad died Leslie came to live with us.

Hi,  I am Basil Wellard's eldest daughter.  I have been trying to find information on Harry as he and his family came to visit us when I was about 13.  If this is the same Harry I think he died a few years later.

Norah died at the grand old age of 100.  I went with my brother John to her 100th birthday party in  Bournemouth
with my father who was then suffering from Dementia.

It is not unknown for brother and sister marry another brother and sister.  as long as they are not blood relatives of course.

I'm not sure what her husbands name was.  I think I will have to contact one of the family for this.  Thanks for trying anyway
