Hi Amanda

I don't have a lot on the Murrcutt's I'm afraid, all I can tell you is that Elizabeth Murcutt married Joseph Tate in 1849 at St Martins in the Fields and died in 1908 aged 79. Her parents were Thomas Murcutt and Elizabeth Sarah Bristol Marshall and she had a sister Ann born in 1828.

The 1861 census has Thomas Murcutt  (Aged 65) at 2 Wild St Court as a  Boot Maker

that sums up that I have.

Hope it is of some use to you.

Colin

Hi Pat

Firstly may I apologise for not contacting you sooner, but I have only just read your message.

Lydia was actually the elder sister of my great-great grandfather James Harris.  Lydia kept cropping up on various census.  I was particularly interested in the 1881 census as my great grandfather George was visiting her at the time.

I don't have any direct connection with the Climpson family so probably can't help with anything there, but am very interested in Lydia.  I have some details of her parents Henry and Mary but have now hit a brickwall.

I have also made contact with Carole Russell a descendant of James and Lydia's other brother Henry.

If you would like any info on the Harris side, I would be glad to share.

Hope to hear from you soon. Pauline.

Hi Dave,
Sorry for the delay in answering you I have only just spotted your reply.

I have just found a possible link of a  first marriage in  Durham, South Shields which I am trying to confirm. So it appears that he (or his family) did move about a bit, and Bradford isn't to far from Leeds is it?

I know were he was in 1849 but not before, I believe he was born about 1829 but even that is unclear as the further you go back the harder it gets to find any information ,so any names you my have that could possibly help would be very helpful.

Best regards

Colin.

I am trying to trace Joseph Tate b abt 1830 from Leeds who married ELIZABETH MURCUTT at St Martin in the Fields, Westminster, London on the 24 June 1849.
They had 6 children that I know of.

Thomas Murcutt William
Elizabeth Ann
Joseph Murcutt
Emily Louisa
William Murcutt
Henry Murcutt

From Joseph’s wedding certificate his father’s name was William Tate a tailor.

In all the censuses I have 1851 to 1901 they all state that he was born in Leeds but no other details.

I know this is a very slim chance, but is there anybody who has a link to JOSEPH?

Or if anyone could advise me on what my next move should be to make any headway, any help would be very much appreciated

My link with this tree is Joseph Murcutt Tate, and I have quite a few names which I am more then willing to share.

Best regards,

Colin

Many thanks Carol. Very interested in Mary Ann Evens (ne Harris) it confirms that Lydia (also a Harris) knew each other, just need to find out if they were related. Yet another challenge ahead!!!

Hi, I am looking for the Climpson family living in the High Street, Brentford.

Lydia would be about 32 and married to Charles a bootmaker.  I am also interested in any lodgers or visiters as some of these may be linked.

I would be grateful for any help you can offer.

Thanks very much Rick, I had half a hope they were staying with relatives which I could link to Leeds, but it was not to be.

Many thanks for your help.
