Hi,

I'm still looking for Terence Duane....

I found a newspaper article from March 1926 which states that he was charged in Corowa NSW with wife desertion (he had deserted his wife 4 years prior) and an application was granted to return him to Victoria.

Any idea how I can find out what might have happened next with his journey through the legal system (and ultimately when and where he died)??

thanks

Hi,

The group shot was sent as postcard to a Mr Kirkwood who lived in Rose St Kirkintilloch Scotland.

thanks for your assistance

Hi,

I am trying to find out what happened to Terence Duane - born ~ 1886 in Victoria.

The last that I know of him is from the NSW Gaol Entrance books from 1925 and another police record from 1926.

After this I cannot find any trace of him.

Any ideas?

cheers

Thanks heaps for the info! This is great and much appreciated.

Would I be correct in thinking that to view the Intestate Letters you speak of Althea that I would have to go into the Archives?

Hi,

Patrick Duane, my gt-grandfather, was a slaughterman who died in a car accident on the 5th July 1930 on the "Masteron-Carterton road", leaving a wife and six kids.  He was 51.

He was an Australian who was in New Zealand for work.

He is apparently buried in Greytown Cemetery

I have his death certificate and found an article that references his death on the Past Papers website.  In the newpaper article it states that an inquest was to be held.

Does anyone know if I can find out info about the inquest?

Thanks

Mike
