Worcestershire / Re: EADES - Bromsgrove
« on: Tuesday 08 May 12 19:41 BST (UK)  »
Good evening,
My husband is related to the Laugher family in Bromsgrove & we saw the sad story of Harriet Laugher & her step daughter Sarah Ann Broomfield on the British Newspaper Archive site last night. Having spent an interesting few hours researching the family today on line - a click onto Roots chat earlier could have saved me time!!
I believe that Samuel Laugher had a previous marriage to Jane ?Franks and that Harriet was his second wife (20 years age difference).
I believe that Harriet had a sister was called Emma and was married to a Luke Dipple (another name of my husbands family - ?any connection); a sister Alice (18340, a brother John (1838); and a sister Carolin (1840).
Any further information would be appreciated.
Thanks

Worcestershire / Re: Prison 1911 census

Hi Mable,
Wondered what your connection to Herbert is, I believe Herbert born 1863 was the Husband of my grt grt grandmother Alice Dipple, I think she may have been Alice Smith when she married Herbert.
Alice had two children before she met Herbert , they were Frank and Eliza and then after they were married they had Herbert Jr born 1904.
Herbert was actually in prison on two occassions, the first time was in 1881 at the age of 19 when he was in Worcester prison, his occupation is down as a painter and the second time in 1911 again in Castle street Worcester and this time his occupation was down as a traction engine driver.
I wondered if you have any information you could share with me.
Regards
Steve

Herefordshire / Re: NORMAN ag labs around the area
« on: Friday 07 November 08 19:34 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, My great great great Grandfather was James Norman born in Ocle Pichard in 1814 (?), although the 1841 census gives him a date of birth of approx. 1821. The family continued to work as agricultural labourers around Herefordshire through all the following census's. My great Grandfather died in Pixley, Herefordshire of TB leaving 5 young children.
I have found many Normans in Ocle Pichard from the late 16th century to the mid 19th century but have not yet made a link.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
