Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Death Lookup please for Louis Harold Pollard
« on: Monday 03 August 09 12:42 BST (UK)  »
Hello

Can someone please do a death lookup for Louis Harold Pollard circa 1954 in Hampshire.  He was born in 1898 in Kent.

I have searched but have been unable to find his death anywhere.

If you are able to find the death of his wife Margaret Pollard (nee Bulpitt) who also died in Hampshire - not sure of year though.

Many thanks

Toots :)

Gloucestershire / Elizabeth Tucker

Hello

I am having no luck in finding the birth, marriage or dead entries for Elizabeth Tucker, she was born in 1816 in Sturry, Kent.

I know she moved to Gloucestershire (date unknown) as she married William Bond and appears in the 1851 and 1861 census.  I cant find her in any other census.

1851 - Class: HO107; Piece: 1972; Folio: 136; Page: 3; GSU roll: 87372.
1861 - Class: RG9; Piece: 1794; Folio: 59; Page: 2; GSU roll: 542869.

I will post this on the Kent and Gloucestershire boards.

Any help appreciated.   :)

Thanks

« on: Friday 19 December 08 13:22 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

I am trying to trace Albert Martin and his wife and ancestors, but havent had much luck to date.

What I do know,  he married Elizabeth Amos and they had a daughter Gertrude Emily Ethel Martin who was born 2nd Qtr 1906 in Pewsey Wiltshire, v5a, p148.

I cant seem to find any of these people on the census.  Any ideas?

Thanks

The Common Room / Re: Info on marriage certificate has confused me!

Thanks All.

I agree that the fathers name was "invented" and I suppose he felt like  he should knock a few years off as his bride was 20.

Thanks again!

The Common Room / Info on marriage certificate has confused me!
« on: Thursday 20 November 08 09:39 GMT (UK)  »
During research of my husbands tree, I found his great grandfather Louis Harold Pollard, ordered his birth certificate (born November 1898) which showed his mother as Ann Pollard with father blank.

So I have continued along her line and found lots of people.

However, yesterday I recevied Louis Harold's marraige certificate ((23 May 1931) (and I know it is the correct one) and find that a father is listed Jack Pollard (deceased).  I understand that maybe a little white lie  was told and the name (made up) was added.  However the marraige certificate also lists Louis as 29.  He would have been 32 if my birth certificate is correct.

So maybe it was another lie.

Does anyone know what documentation had to be presented in 1931 to get married, would he have had to show his  birth certficate?
