Hi

Sorry for the delayed reply, been off the forum for a while.

Yes, I think we are talking about the very same.  My records indicate they were married on 18 Oct 1829 in the Old Church, St Pancras.

I have 9 children:- Edward (14 Sept 1831), Maria (22 May 1833), William Joseph (15 Feb 1835), Joseph (1837) [my line], Thomas (abt.1840), William (abt.1842), Alfred (abt.1844), Charles (abt.1848) and Henry Edward (24 Mar 1851).

I don’t have much on Elizabeth Buckle either; just that she was born about 1810 in Islington.

I guess we might be able to offer each other some information.

Thanks for that SM - I have been down to my local "Mormons", ordered and perused the film records from all the Ipswich parishes, appropriate to the date mentioned, with no results.  Hence my speculation that he may have originated in a surrounding parish.

Suffolk / Joseph Edward PETTIT - Ipswich born 1807
« on: Friday 19 October 07 21:42 BST (UK)  »
Census records indicate that this person was born in Ipswich in 1807.  However perusal of the appropriate parish records revealed no trace of a baptism so he possibly could have originated from the Ipswich "area".  Does anyone have any further information?
Thanks in anticipation - Martin

Renfrewshire / Re: Malcolm and Margaret Ferguson - marriage
« on: Wednesday 07 June 06 09:49 BST (UK)  »
Hi Gill, thank you very much for that.  My source comes from my North American relation.  His wife is a Ferguson and has some information on her ancestors but only back so far.  I think that his request to me was based on the assumption that all UK records are kept together!

On a recent visit to Ireland they checked the gravestones of the two Malcolms and Margaret.  I will have to check the actual source of my relative's information.

Thanks again

Martin

Renfrewshire / Malcolm and Margaret Ferguson - marriage
« on: Monday 05 June 06 14:38 BST (UK)  »
On behalf of relatives in Ireland and the USA I'm trying to trace any information on this family; my research of my own family has not led me to Scotland yet.  Malcolm Ferguson and Margaret Horsburgh were both born about 1850. I have no knowledge of their wedding but they had a son Malcolm, born 13 Dec 1879 in Glasgow.  It seems they later moved to the Dublin area as Malcolm and Margaret are buried there.  Any help much appreciated.

Norfolk Lookup Requests / Wiseman 1861 & 1871 - Census Look-up Request
« on: Sunday 01 January 06 12:42 GMT (UK)  »
Could someone look-up a Wiseman family in Norwich:  William Wiseman (husband - b1808), Caroline Wiseman (wife), Mary Ann Wiseman (daug b1838), George Wiseman (son b 1841), Sarah Ann Wiseman (daug b 1850).
In 1851 they were living at Gas Hill, Norwich: by 1881 Caroline (now a widow) and Sarah Ann were living at the Great Hospital, St Helen's, Norwich.

TIA

Ireland / Finding living descendants in Ireland
« on: Sunday 30 October 05 18:05 GMT (UK)  »
I have been working my way though the records to find the descendants of my uncle who moved to Ireland at the beginning of the last century.  I am now in the position where I have names of people who should be alive; I think most of them are still in the Dublin area.  Are there any records available in the UK which would help me find them.  I am aware of on-line telephone directories but is the register of electors (for example) available here?  Any other suggestions welcome.

Devon / Re: Looking for Jane Hall - born "Plymouth Dockyard"

Thanks for that, Kenjo, I'll follow it up.  I did find a "possible" hit but father was a soldier, married outside the area and that was that!
