Hi
This is driving me nuts, I am looking for a burial of a Caroline Wilkinson nee Harrison. She died at Foulridge 24th May1853 aged 32 years. Informant was Jane Bracewell her sister.
Caroline maried Joseph Wilkinson in 1837. I have found Josephs grave at St Barts, Colne he died 13th July 1848 and he is in with his Mother, Father, and Sister. I have looked under Wilkinson, Harrison and Bracewell for Caroline but to no avail, any help would be very much appreciated
thanks

Northumberland / Re: Irish Families in Willington Quay
« on: Tuesday 25 March 14 20:46 GMT (UK)  »
A little late on this but, last week I was at a funeral and saw someone I hadn't seen for a number of years who was brought up in Willington Quay so he has lived there for some 70 odd years. For some reason Catholics in Willington Quay came up in conversation and he said how divided it was even as late as the 1950s. He did say no way would my Grandfather have allowed any of his daughters to marry a catholic. Strange even though some of my lot lived in Nelson street and Hedlum street and then ironically in St Mary's Terrace.

Thank you Trish and Kay.  I have been trying to sort this for a while now.  Elizabeth Sott married  George Richardson October 28th 1871 in the Parish Church Tynemouth both full age.   George Richardson died 10th November 1875 ( Typus Fever)
Elizabeth Richardson (widow) married John Spencer March 13th 1876 John aged 25 and Elizabeth 22.
I also have  K Richardson  ( Daughter in Law ) as the informant of the death of Elizabeth Spencer 7/8th June 1932 and again informant of the death of Owen Spencer 23rd March 1929 recorded as  ( Aunt ).  I will purchase the cert fo Edward Mudd/Hunter just to confirm parenthood. What has left always left me unsure was the Marriage of Catherine Tenby Mudd to John Hunter, and then saying spinster on the marriage to John Scott Richardson. Need to pin her down dying and see what is on the certificate etc

Thanks Rycroft

Northumberland Lookup Requests / ( K ) Catherine Tenby Mudd

Hi just trying to sort out Catherine Tenby Mudd.  She married John Hunter JAS 1899 South Shields.
Then in 1901 she is living with John and their son Edward.
I have this lunchtime received the marriage cert of Catherine Tenby Mudd to John Scott Richardson married 3 Nov 1912 Holy Trinity Church, Tynemouth. John Says he is 38 Catherine 37  Bachelor and Spinster !!  In the 1911 census they say married 4 years ? no children
Catherines father is down as Thomas Mudd but John Scott Richardson says his father is William when in fact it was George, I believe William to be his Grandfather. Any ideas on how to sort this out.
I don't think there could be 2 Catherine Tenby Mudds b in 1875, but I may be wrong!!!

any help appreciated

Best Wishes and a Happy New Year

World War One / Re: trying to return a ww1 medal
« on: Tuesday 31 December 13 19:02 GMT (UK)  »
I read this thread with interest, 3 weeks ago I was looking at a WW1 trio belonging to someone with an unusual name. So I went on to Ancestry and looked under Public Trees and sure enough this soldier was there. To cut a long story short I contacted the tree owner and let him know this trio was for sale and, that shoud he be interested to contact me for details. He did contact me and I told him the info and that if he was interested in Purchasing them I wouldn't bid against him. He has been in touch to say he now has the medals and he is delighted they are back with the family. So don't give up anyone looking for family medals  if they are out there they may one day find there way back !!
