Armed Forces / Re: Help finding my Grandad

Yes I agree, death certificates would solve mystery. Unless there is someone out there with connections to the family who could tell us. The children I have for Frederick and Emma Lena Dorrett are:- Reginald Arthur 1898-1962 who married Cora Furzer in 1920
Olive Dora 1903-1991
Gwendoline Maud 1905
Harry Frederick 1907-1952 who married Edna Margaret Chambers
Laura Winifred 1909-1950 (she was a spinster and left £300.2s.8p to Reginald Arthur Spear, local government officer.
My great grandmother Ada Annie Swift was living as a housekeeper for Liberty Camfield in the 1911 Census (no sign of husband Thos.....who later died in Abercarn in 1916). She later married Liberty in 1925. A few skeletons in the Spear family I think.
I have one photo of Arthur James Spear, its a group one of council members. I can send you any info I have if you give me your email address. Are we allowed to do that on here?

Frederick Frazer Spear was the brother of my great grandmother Ada Annie Spear. She married Thomas Swift in 1889. There was also another brother Arthur James Spear who was Deputy Town Clerk of Newport in the 1911 Census. I would love to see any photos of the family.
Regarding Frederick Frazer Spear the info I have is that both he and his wife Emma Lena Dorrett died 1916 Jun qtr. Is there any more info regarding this
Cheers
Doreen

Durham Lookup Requests / Robert Pinkney
« on: Wednesday 30 December 15 16:37 GMT (UK)  »
I hav'nt been on here for a very long time. I asked this question in 2008 I think. I am searching for the birth/baptism of my gg grandfather Robert Pinkney, born about 1825 in Tudhoe, Fullwell, Durham...these are the places listed in various census's. On his marriage cert in 1850 to Jane Telford, his father is listed as John, coal miner.
I dont think I will ever find the answer to this so I can move further back in my ancestry.
Regards Doreen Jacques nee Pinkney

Any Idea where I can go to find information of patients in St Cadocs from when they opened in the early 1900.s please. I have a great great grandfather Francis Spear who died at the asylum on  10/12/1911. He was an inmate there according to the 1901 census but the 1911 doesnt list him. I would really like to have access to his records.

If as you say, the Pinkneys of Tudhoe seem to be connected if you go back far enough, then I wish I could find the connection with my g g grandfather Robert Pinkney. He is stated as being born at Tudhoe on the census's and on his marriage certificate in 1851, his father is John. I have been puzzling over this one for some years now
