Hello Gordon. Am a very good friend of Ann Payne who is trying to trace Candida's relatives/  We were hoping to find living relatives in New York or whever that Susannah her grand daughter could look on as relatives.  Anything you can help with would be much appreciated.

thank you so much for your reply re Candida.  If I take the first one which seems likely presumably I can then go back to the parents and backwards from there.   Is there a particular sitre to go on where you have managed to find them, please.

Thank you

Lynn

I am searching desperately for the family of Candida Cruz Alonso who was born in Puerto Rico in 1919 and died in New York in 1855.  She had three girls (*).  Her partner was (*)Le Carpentier, a merchant seaman.  Need to find ancestors and family of Candida to be able to tie all together.  It would have been probably San Juan they lived in.  It appears they departed USA in 1957 and moved to Richmond Surrey, England where they were all placed in boarding school.

If any one out there knows how I can research in Puerto Rico or Dominican Republic I would be grateful for any guidance.   Thank you so much in advance.

Thank you Andrew.  I know researching one side of my family is a nightmre because they are Eastenders (16 brothers and sisters) but cannot find a trace of them.  Will keep looking.

I have found that Stanley Lunt and his son were quite famous golfers so will follow that lead.

Many thanks again

thank you to all of you who have replied so quickly  I cannot see how you all get the information so quickly.  I am very grateful and can move forward from here  St Marylebone is a) a station in London and B) a district in London.    I will certainly check out the site where you have found the Army Air Corps record.  Could you please let me know the site so I may apply for his record.  Thankyou.

Am searching for any information on Stanley Lunt b. 1919 I think in Merseyside.or Shropshire.  He was in the Army Air Corps with a number that looks like HM.11.5115286.  I believe he died in Mar 1988, and lived in Birmingham at that time.   That is about all the information on him.  I do not know if he was married but has a daughter born in 1946 in St Marylebone.  Her mother's name was OZANNE.  Can any one please help me or direct me to where I might begin this rather futile search.  Thankyou.

thank you so much for sending the link.  It just makes the family tree come alive when you see the places that your relatives died in.  Some of mine actually worked in them but a sad place nonetheless.  Social housing of the 1800's.

Wow don't tell me you didn't make a copy!!!!!!

She must have been thrilled as she actually lived there.  I hope to go down to Battle again very shortly and shall make a point of looking out the workhouse.

Once again sorry for not replying to you sooner.
