Australia / Re: Garnaut name from England

Yes Giles Gudge Garnaut should be the father on the Wedding of Harry and Clara.
My family tree is at
http://www.myheritage.com/FP/home.php?s=8505161
If you want to have a good look just email me at
(*)
and I'll add you as a visitor to have a look at it.

Giles Garnaut's father Thomas married Honour.
But I'm onto Thomas's father now... Louis or Lewis (not too sure if there's anything to find though) Apparently he was born in England in around 1815 but can't find him at the moment... only Quebec ones.  Maybe they went to Quebec from France first .. then to England ... then to Australia.

Thank you Cando

My father's name is Bruce Henry Mundy d: 14 February 2007 Adelaide SA (yes this is what's prompted me to do it).
His father was James (Jim) Mundy d: 1991 Adelaide SA
I don't know my grandfather's father's name>>>
so it's difficult
James Mundy was married to Doreen (nee Bampton) in Rosewater Adelaide SA.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My father Bruce has two brothers - (**)

Merry Xmas
  ;D :) ;) ;D :o 8) ::) ??? :P :-[ :-X :-\ :-*

Thank you all soooooo much!
And I have been online but didn't realise I had such a wonderful response.
I'm new at all this and now it's all starting to add up.
I'm making sense of it all ... i think.
Especially to Cando and Rog a very very Merry Christmas to you both you are just so wonderful and the info you gave me is spot on!
To Marie and Ricky thank you ever so much.
I now have a fairly decent sort of tree happening!
Now just for the other side 'Mundy' - not as easy as 'Garnaut'.  There's far too many 'Mundy's' to go through!
Again thank you a Merry Xmas to you all!
I've also found some Military records online for my Great Grandfather Giles Gudge Garnaut - the name changed in England from 'Garnaud' - this is what it was in Anjou FRance - there is a Montgarnaud castle there.
Anyway ... thank you again!
Debra Mundy

Australia / Garnaut name from England
« on: Tuesday 11 December 07 01:49 GMT (UK)  »
I'm doing my family Tree and am trying to track down Charles Garnaut
Charles Garnaut lived in Rosewater SA.
I believe that he came from England on the Emigrant ship 'Gratitude' around 1848 or there abouts.
Does anyone know where I can get the passenger lists for the Gratitude?
DM ::)

:D
Hi
You two don't know me from a bar of soap.
But I'll blow your minds anyway!
My surname is 'Mundy'.
My mother's maiden name is Garnaut!!!
Her father was John Walter Garnaut and his father was Harry Garnaut.
So if there's something you may want to ask me re the Godfrey's my mother is still alive - she is 77 and her sister is 65.
My grandfather - John Walter Garnaut married Dorothy Mack.
I've been researching the Garnaut side of my family and did a Google search and it came up with your Godfrey conversation.
Please reply?
Deb
