It appears that the daughter Mary Barry was indeed born c1841 in County Cork

Hi

Thanks for prompt reply. I only know the name Elizabeth Jago as taken from the census record, all children were probably born in England

Any help on the marriage of Michael Barry c1820 and Elizabeth Jago c1819 presumably at County Cork. They arrived in the UK and are shown on the 1851 census as living at 2 Lubes Court, Middlesex, England. His occupation shown as a Coal Whipper. I assume unloading boats at Shadwell, London where they had shared living with probably other Irish families. I am a direct descendant and unable to move past the above.

That's a long time ago ! I won't go any further then , thankyou .

Thanks for your reply. BUT I am confused by research results. It may be that there were two Michael Nash born in Melksham c1799 and therefore I have a choice of parents (neither proven). The Michael Nash listed in the 1841 census married to Elizabeth Prosser and living at Beanacre is definitely my ancestor.

I thought that maybe someone could provide me with the missing link as a few year have passed since my original research.

Best Wishes

Michael Nash

Hi Mike it is the British Isles Vital record index produced on disc by the Latter Day Saints and often has records not on the IGI.  If you think this is your Richard there are some possible siblings which I can give you

I was unable to find a Melksham baptism for Richard Naish between 1735 and 1745.   There were only these in that time scale -
26 Dec 1743 Mary Gulick dau of Jno. Nash of Laycock.
23 Mar 1737 Roger son of Roger Naish, born Jany 3 was received into ye congregation
And a burial 12 May 1793 Richard Naish.

Hi

The latter is the guy I'm researching. Now I believe that he  was born 1732

Rosie

Hi

Thanks. Indeed I am looking at this Richard Naish as being a direct ancestor. I'm afraid that I don't know what "BIVRI" is!!

Hi Dave

I am so sorry not to have replied before, but I have suffered a major computer crash, resulting in losing all info on my root drive. I am rebuilding my family tree with the stuff that I have backed up on an external drive.

Thanks so much for the info from Melksham. I have now taken it as read that my GG Grandfather's (Michael Nash b1798)  parents were indeed John Naish b1770 and Mary Pearce. I have also taken John's parents to be Richard Naish b? and Betty Pollard. All from Melksham.

My next quest is to find more about Richard!

Thanks again for your help and best wishes

Michael Nash
