London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Re: John Shaw of Dulwich
« on: Wednesday 30 June 10 12:34 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I too am a great grandson of George Shaw and Amelia Ramshaw.

My Grandfather was Edwin Herbert Shaw, a pork butcher, of Camberwell, and his siblings were Amelia and George. I have no data on these two and would welcome any nformation you have.

My father was Jack Herbert Shaw, a cabinet maker of Streatham, London. His brother Thomas Edwin Shaw, also a cabinet maker, has a son who still lives in Dulwich.

George Shaw's, father was John Shaw, wheelwright, of Dulwich, who married Mary, and, he had three siblings, Mary, John and William. Their father was John Shaw of Dulwich who I believe married Elizabeth Levens. If you can take the tree back farther than this I would be very interested.

I have a copy of Elizabeth's will.  I also have my own write up of the family which you are very welcome to have a copy of if you would send me your email.

I would welcome any information on Amelia Ramshaw.

Peter.

Jon and Orielbenfro,

Thank you so much for your information regarding Susanna Thomas's parents. This fits as James Prater who married Susanna was also a colliery worker.

Regards,

Peter.

I am looking for the origins of the Prater family. Thomas Prater, a coal miner was born in Merthyr in 1842. His father was James Prater from Bristol and his mother Sussanah Thomas from Saundersfoot.
Thomas married Mary Ann Parkes.

Any information would be very welcome

Peter.

Any information on Susannah Thomas would be very welcome. I understand that she was baptised at St Twissels church in 1814.

Hi, Could you please send this message on to Troods who replied to your request re Pitt Family.

Could you please give me details of Richard Pitt, son of Richard Pitt and Jane Tanner.

According to my information, Richard Pitt senior emigrated to Tasmania in 1803 with three of his children, Salome, Francis and Philip, leaving one child behind with Jane. Could this be the Richard you refer to?

Many thanks

Peter.

Henry was the son of Francis John of Caerwen who married Dorothy (Possibly Perkin.

Francis's father was Henry John who married Joan. Henry's will was proved 1 June 1686.
