Suffolk Completed Lookup Requests / Metfield 1811 Census Lookup - ELMER/variants
« on: Saturday 08 December 07 11:37 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Ninkynoo
Many thanks for your offer of help
Would you please confirm whether or not the family ELMER or ELMORE or ELMY were still resident in Metfield 1811. The family head would have been Adam. Although his mother Mary might have also remained a Metfield resident.
I am trying to establish the date of that family's move, either together or in part, to nearby Fressingfield.
Thank you again.
Regards

Thank you Mary Ellen
If your Eliza was the daughter of Richard Wilson RUDKIN b: 1852 Liverpool England d:1913 Cockermouth Westmorland England, we have a link.
Richard's brother was my great grandfather Edward RUDKIN b:1839 Liverpool.
I have details of his ancestors back to 1740 in Great Easton, Rutland, England.
If you would like to share further RUDKIN information please contact me.
Best regards

Suffolk Completed Lookup Requests / Re: MAYHEW 51 & 61

Hi Ard
I have just spotted this conversation.
Do you know if this Mayhew family is linked to the Francis MAYHEW of Metfield, Suffolk mentioned in the Bastardy examination of Mary ELMER 10 Feb 1757.
The latter unmarried couple are my 5Xgreat grandparents.
Best regards

One Name Studies: H to M / Re: MORRIS family

John
I am researching my MORRIS family.
One branch migrated from Radford Nottingham to Aspley Queensland in the mid 19th century. However, that branch had its earlier roots in God's county - Derbyshire ;-)) :)
Please contact me if you would like more detais

Hi
Just a casual suggestion
There appears to be some uncanny coincidences here:
The RUDKINS were a big Toxteth family.
You have an Eliza RUDKIN married to a SMYTH.
Then later an Eliza SMYTH marries in Toxteth.
Might be worth a closer look.

Thank you for the reply Ann.
My George had settled in England before the birth of your Wilhelmina. So a link is unlikely.
However if I turn anything up I shall let you know.

My maternal great grandfather Henry MORRIS married Julia SHERWIN 3 Apr 1873 in Boulton near Derby England. I have details of Julia's ancestors dating back several generations. They were a large family of primarily tenant farmers living in the Alvaston and Boulton villages by Derby.
Further details will be provided on request
