« on: Wednesday 15 October 25 10:05 BST (UK)  »
Another update, adding more confusion and not reflective of the paper trail

Celtic & Gaelic
Northern Wales & North West England 75%
Central Scotland & Northern Ireland 2%
Munster, Ireland 2%
Brittany, France 1%

England
East Midlands 14%
West Midlands 4%

Nordic
Iceland 2%

I’m more confused than ever  :o

The Common Room / Re: divorce records 1960's?
« on: Saturday 11 October 25 15:39 BST (UK)  »
My father’s first marriage was in 1963, his second was in 1973 - will i be able to apply for his first divorce records or will they be closed as he is still living.

Sadly my father now has dementia and didn’t like to talk about his past.

The Common Room / Re: Cause of death - 'Visitation of God' ?
« on: Thursday 08 May 25 11:05 BST (UK)  »
Just found my first ever "Visitation of God" recorded by the coroner of Burslem, Staffordshire in October 1848

- John Copestick aged 52, a brickmaker of Tunstall, Staffordshire - a time given as "12 at noon"

- his widow remarried in May 1849!

thanks for that, I never would have worked that out!

Mary Flynn was the bride, guessing she was a domestic servant to the Davies family

best wishes

 :)
